Housed in the former US Embasy
The entire walled and gated compound of the Yan Huang clinical Hospital was originally the US Embassy during the Qing Dynasty. It was built in 1902 and served that purpose until 1949. After "China’s Liberation" in 1949, it was used as an Official State Guesthouse. Subsequently, it served as the residence of Premier Zho En Lei, from 1969 to 1979. There is a large conference table in one of the rooms, in the main building, where Premier Zho En Lei held discussions on opening up China to the West and developing relations with America. President Nixon and other famed people such as Henry Kissinger and Tanaka of Japan sat at this table of such great historical importance.

The office of our former President George H. Bush, the father of our current President George W. Bush was in the main building. While in Beijing, he served the US Government as the highest official in the corresponding office.

The King of Cambodia lived in one of the guesthouses for approximately three years. The buildings have since been restored and are elegantly adorned with antiques that are simply beautiful. The largest room of the main building now serves as a reception area for foreign dignitaries. The backdrop of ancient rice paper murals, calligraphy, china vases and relics accompanied by modern furniture creates a mood of elegance and comfort. The initial compound is now used exclusively by Yan Huang Hospital.
